Fostering Opportunities Between Scotland and Africa: APGB Consultancy Joins Scotland London Africa Week 2024

At APGB Boutique Consultancy, we are committed to fostering meaningful partnerships that drive sustainable growth and economic development. This week, our CEO, Alice Santos, proudly represents APGB at the prestigious Scotland London Africa Week 2024, hosted by the Scottish Africa Business Association (SABA). This flagship event, running from November 26 to 28, is a pivotal platform for strengthening trade ties and unlocking opportunities between Scotland and Africa.

A Dynamic Platform for Collaboration

The event gathers a powerful mix of African ambassadors, high commissioners, UK politicians, and key industry leaders to explore collaboration across critical sectors:

-Energy: Scotland’s leadership in renewable energy aligns seamlessly with Africa’s vast renewable potential. In 2023, trade in renewable energy technologies between Scotland and Africa exceeded £500 million (US$631 million).

-Skills Training: Education and vocational skills are vital for Africa's growing workforce, creating demand for expertise from Scottish organisations.

-Marine and Blue Economy: Africa’s extensive coastline presents opportunities for sustainable development, with Scotland offering its wealth of marine expertise.

-Agriculture: Scotland’s agricultural technology is fuelling growth in Africa’s agricultural sector, with trade valued at £200 million (US$252 million) in 2023.

-Healthcare: Partnerships in healthcare are delivering groundbreaking advancements, with trade between the regions reaching £300 million (US$378 million) last year.

Strengthening Scotland-Africa Relations

London’s status as a global financial hub is key to facilitating international trade. The Scotland London Africa Week leverages this advantage, offering a curated programme of discussions, networking events, and strategic briefings. These exclusive engagements are designed to promote collaboration, highlight investment opportunities, and drive impactful initiatives.

Alice Santos will participate in high-level conversations with African diplomats and UK policymakers to explore how APGB Boutique Consultancy can contribute to this growing partnership. The focus will be on bridging Scottish expertise and Portuguese speaking African Nations markets in sectors such as training, agriculture, and sustainable energy.

Embracing SABA’s Vision

“Creating alliances within the African business ecosystem in London gives us a huge opportunity to boost trade and relations directly between Scotland and African countries with the Scottish Africa Business Association as the enabler,” said Seona Shand, COO at SABA.

This sentiment resonates deeply with APGB’s mission of empowering businesses to thrive in emerging markets. Through collaboration, innovation, and shared vision, we aim to create a lasting legacy of economic and social progress.

A Future of Endless Possibilities

At APGB Boutique Consultancy, we believe in the transformative power of partnerships. The Scotland London Africa Week is a testament to the incredible potential for collaboration between Scotland and Africa. We look forward to fostering new connections, supporting enterprises on both continents, and contributing to the positive impact of this week’s initiatives.

Stay tuned for updates on the outcomes of Scotland London Africa Week 2024, and join us in championing a future of shared prosperity!
